About This Coffee

A washed coffee from the Huehuetenango region of Western Guatemala, grown at altitudes of 1400–2200 MASL by smallholder farmers. "Waykan" means "star" or "light" in the Maya Q'anjob'al dialect. It is a blend of traditional varieties — Bourbon, Catimor, Caturra, Maragogype, and Pache — from a regional select producer. The flavor profile features panela, dark chocolate, raisin, caramel, and cooked citrus, with mellow, balanced acidity and a smooth, full-bodied mouthfeel.

Driven by a desire to share their love for exceptional coffee, they evolved from a multi-roaster cafe into roasting their own beans. Their approach is rooted in careful selection and curiosity. They source high-quality green coffees that excite them and roast them with the goal of achieving a sweet, clean, and well-balanced cup. Drekka has become a beloved hub for the coffee community in Sofia, known for its quality and welcoming atmosphere.
