Costa Rica - Don Joel

Brûlerie du Quai

About This Coffee

This coffee originates from the Don Joel finca in Naranjo, West Valley region of Costa Rica, produced by Allan Alfredo Oviedo Rodriguez. The farm has become one of Costa Rica's top producers through innovative varieties and controlled treatments, with their 91-point batch ranked 3rd best coffee in Costa Rica at the Cup of Excellence. The coffee is processed using the Honey Process method, where cherries are pulped while retaining some mucilage during fermentation and drying, developing complex aromas, silky texture and natural sweetness. The profile is vibrant and balanced with notes of citrus including lime and orange, caramel, brown sugar, cherry, peach, grape, and tropical fruit, with a toasted bread aftertaste.

Brûlerie du Quai

Perched on the Atlantic shores of Quebec's Gaspesie region, Brulerie du Quai brings an ocean inspired philosophy to the art of coffee roasting. Founded by master roaster Dany, the company directly imports, roasts, and distributes its beans to over 400 locations across Quebec and New Brunswick. The seaside roastery in Carleton sur Mer is both a production facility and a destination for visitors drawn to the region's natural beauty. With artisanal roasting methods and transparent sourcing at its core, Brulerie du Quai ships Canada wide on orders over $65, making coastal craft coffee accessible far beyond the Gaspe peninsula.
