Kanjathi AA Washed - Kenya
Naft Coffee RoastersAbout This Coffee
This single origin coffee comes from the Kanjathi Factory in Murang'a County, Kenya, located on the slopes of the Aberdare Ranges. The factory was established in the 1960s and is operated by the Kangiri Farmers' Cooperative Society. Coffee is grown by smallholder farmers in Kenya's central highlands, benefiting from fertile volcanic soil, seasonal rainfall, and high altitudes. The coffee is carefully handpicked at peak ripeness, then washed processed using disk pulpers and fermented for 12 to 24 hours in concrete tanks. After fermentation, parchment is washed through grading channels and dried on raised beds for 7 to 14 days. The coffee features varieties Batian, SL-28, SL-34, and Ruiru-11, with tasting notes of jasmine, grape, and caramel.
