Flower Child Coffee

About This Coffee

Ruber Izaguirre is a single-farm coffee from Finca El Pino in El Cedral, Las Vegas, Santa Barbara, Honduras, grown at 1,720 meters. The lot is Pacas variety, processed washed (de-pulped, 24-hour tank fermentation, washed four times and dried in a parabolic solar dryer for 10–15 days with hand-sorting). Tasting notes include brown sugar, date, pear, apple, tamarind, maple syrup, raisin, peach and cherry; it is recommended as a comforting espresso that pairs well with milk and also works well as a filtered brew.

Flower Child Coffee

Prestin Yoder founded Flower Child as a small roasting and green buying project after years working in specialty coffee. The operation runs out of Oakland, focusing on limited releases rather than a permanent lineup. Yoder roasts light but fully developed targeting clarity, and sources directly from farmers. The emphasis on farmer compensation and ongoing dialogue with producing partners shapes both the selection and the pricing. Coffees are curated for cleanliness, vibrancy, and origin expression, with lots from Ethiopia, Kenya, Burundi, Colombia, or Ecuador appearing frequently.
