Kenya Peaberry Wamuguma | Kiambu (Single Origin Filter)
Manta Ray Coffee RoastersAbout This Coffee
This single origin coffee is a peaberry from the Wamuguma Coffee Factory in Gatundu, Kiambu County, Kenya. The factory operates under the Ritho Farmers' Cooperative Society, established in 1972. The coffee is grown at elevations between 1600-1800 meters in Kenya's central highlands. It features Batian, SL-28, SL-34, and Ruiru-11 varieties and undergoes traditional washed processing. After pulping, the coffee is fermented overnight, washed, soaked, and dried on raised tables. The cup profile offers notes of redcurrants, black plums, and toffee. Most farmers own between 1/8 to 1/4 hectare of land, with their harvests processed collectively into day lots.
