About This Coffee

Kenya Kiangai AA is a single origin coffee from the Kirinyaga region, produced by the Kibirigwi Farmers Cooperative Society. The coffee is grown by approximately 950 smallholder farmers at altitudes of 1600-1800 meters. The Kiangai wet mill, established in the 1960s, processes the coffee using the washed method. Ripe cherries are handpicked, pulped, and fermented overnight before being washed and graded. Parchment is dried on raised tables for 8-14 days. The coffee features varieties including Batian, SL-28, SL-34, and Ruiru-11. Flavor notes include preserved black plums, cherry tomato, and honey, with vivid fruit-forward character, bright acidity, and layered fruit notes.
