Seth Taylor Coffee

About This Coffee

This coffee is from Hacienda El Obraje in the Tangua region near Pasto, Nariño, Colombia, grown at 2200 meters altitude. The Maracaturra variety is a cross between Maragogipe and Caturra, producing large, flavorful beans that are resistant to diseases and pests. The coffee is processed using the washed method with selective harvesting of ripe cherries, 20-hour whole cherry fermentation, 48-hour dry fermentation in sealed stainless tanks, and 18-22 days drying on raised beds. The farm spans 25 hectares of coffee cultivation with 75 hectares preserved as natural forest. Flavor notes include lemon, lime, and grape, described as bright and juicy.

Seth Taylor Coffee

Seth Taylor put his own name on this Montreal micro roastery, establishing a personal, hands on approach that extends from direct relationships with producers to origin travel and intimate cuppings. Starting as a pop up before settling in Mile End, the operation remains deliberately small, with limited production runs that prioritize quality over volume. Roasting is done in small batches with light to medium profiles showcasing origins from Ethiopia, Colombia, Guatemala, Kenya, and El Salvador. The roastery primarily operates as a production facility rather than a bustling cafe, supplying select Montreal specialty cafes through a focused wholesale program. A subscription service with personalized selections reflects Seth's belief that coffee is best when it carries the personal touch of someone who genuinely cares about every step.
