Café Pista

About This Coffee

This coffee is from producer Abdo Aba Mecha, located in Limu in the Jimma region of Ethiopia. The farm spans approximately 30 hectares at altitudes between 1,900 and 2,200 meters above sea level. Abdo cultivates local varieties under a dense forest canopy using traditional agricultural practices with meticulous attention to drying and hand-picking of cherries. This is a natural process coffee roasted to a darker profile for a more generous and textured cup. The profile features blackberry compote, dried fig, and dark chocolate with fruity notes that take on a rounder, jam-like dimension. It offers an intense espresso or rich filter coffee while maintaining the elegant signature of natural Ethiopian coffees.

Café Pista

What began in 2014 as Le Pista Cafe Mobile, a bicycle powered coffee cart created by Maxime Richard, has grown into a Montreal roastery with three brick and mortar locations. The first permanent cafe opened on Beaubien Street in 2016, and roasting now takes place on a Loring S15 Falcon at the Rue Masson location. Cafe Pista maintains a farm to table mentality, building direct relationships with producers to ensure quality and traceability from origin to cup. In a uniquely Montreal twist, select locations transform into Vin Public wine bars on Thursday and Friday evenings, blending coffee culture with the city's vibrant social scene.
