About This Coffee

This natural Gesha comes from the Gesha Village Coffee Estate in Ethiopia's Bench Maji Zone, near the border of South Sudan. The 471-hectare estate was founded by Rachel Samuel and Adam Overton in 2011, using wild seeds from the neighboring Gori Gesha forest. The coffee is grown at 1,790-1,840 meters altitude across eight sub-farms. Three varieties are cultivated: Gesha 1931, Gori Gesha, and Illubabor. This lot is processed using the natural method, with whole cherries dried on raised African beds. The slow cherry maturation at high elevation produces blueberry-tart sweetness, Earl Grey-cream tones, and açaí-like depth with gentle, structured acidity.
