About This Coffee

This single-origin coffee from Peru's Amazonas region features Gesha and Marshell varieties grown at 1800-1950 meters elevation. The Marshell is a rare, locally selected Bourbon-related variety from Cajamarca known for its clarity and sweetness. Processed using the washed method, the coffee is grown on sandy loam soils at the Nuwa Senchi farm managed by Sonia, who brings expertise in systems engineering and marketing to farm management. Harvest runs from July to December. The cup profile features floral notes, white peach, and white tea. This is a filter roast only.

After more than eight years of preparation, Manta Ray Coffee Roasters opened their flagship roastery in Nunawading, Melbourne, in October 2022. The industrial chic space features a visible roasting area framed by large windows, inviting visitors into the process. Drawing on a background in film color grading, the team approaches roasting as a form of creative expression, seeking to reveal depth and character in every batch. Award winners at the 2019 Roasters Smackdown and 2023 ASCA competitions, they offer their signature Outsider Blend alongside rotating single origins and an automated pour over experience at the bar.
