This coffee comes from the Gakenke Washing Station in Kayanza, Burundi, where thousands of smallholder farmers with small plots bring their cherry each harvest. It is a washed Bourbon variety coffee. The cup profile is juicy with a velvety mouthfeel, built around stone fruit notes and bright, malic acidity that reads crisp rather than sharp. Early impressions lean clean and tea-like, with a Pink Lady apple character. Sweetness and flavor clarity are expected to lift with age, shifting from simple to more expressive.
