This coffee is from Banka farm in Yunnan Province, China, specifically from Menglian County in Southwest Yunnan. The farm takes its name from two adjacent villages, Banka Yi and Banka Er, where the cherry is harvested. Yunnan Coffee Traders manages the Banka wet mill and around 100 hectares of farmland, utilizing an optical sorter and experimenting with processing methods like yeast fermentation. The cup profile features chocolate caramels and sweetness with subtle dried fruit acidity. As it cools, notes of black tea emerge.

The name roughly translates to "People of Coffee," capturing the mission to celebrate diverse Asian coffee profiles that are often underrepresented in the specialty world. Their lineup features origins from Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, China, and Papua New Guinea, including innovative processing methods like pichia yeast fermentation and anaerobic naturals. Roasted in Toronto and shipped across Canada and the US, Coffee Wallas brings a fresh perspective to the conversation about where exceptional specialty coffee comes from.
