Kenya Peaberry | Kevote Runyenjes Embu (Single Origin Espresso)
Manta Ray Coffee RoastersAbout This Coffee
This single origin coffee is sourced from the Kevote wet mill in Runyenjes Embu, Kenya, located in the foothills of Mount Kenya. The mill serves almost 2,600 small-holder farmers throughout the Embu region at elevations between 1,300-1,900 meters. This is a peaberry coffee, a natural occurrence where only one seed instead of two matures inside the cherry, sorted by size at the mill. The coffee is a combination of four varietals from the region: Batian, SL28, SL34, and Ruiru 11. It is washed processed and roasted as an espresso roast, featuring tasting notes of blackberry, finger lime, and caramel with a sparkling acidity.
