Coffee PiratesAbout This Coffee
This single origin coffee from El Salvador is grown on family-owned farms in the Santa Ana mountain ranges (Apaneca/Ilamatepeq) and San Salvador (El Balsamo/Quezaltepeq) regions. The coffee is shade-grown and hand-picked across five farms, with wet processing and drying in raised beds. The Hernandez family has operated Santa Lucia Farm on the Santa Ana Volcano for over five generations, along with San Francisco, San Lucas, and Las Palmeras farms. The Gonzalez family runs Santa Cristina Farm on the San Salvador Volcano at over 1,200 meters altitude. All coffee is naturally processed and grown in high-altitude volcanic soils with unique microclimates.

Coffee Pirates
Werner Savernik and Evelyn Priesch founded Coffee Pirates in 2012, establishing one of the first organic-certified third-wave roasteries in Vienna. Their philosophy is a fight against bad coffee, aiming to reintroduce the idea of roasting as a wonderful craft that highlights the unique flavors of different origins. They are deeply committed to building direct, long-term relationships with the farmers and cooperatives they source from.
