Chelbesa

About This Coffee

This coffee originates from the Chelbesa washing station in the Gedeb area of Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia, sourced from approximately 672 smallholder farmers. Grown at around 2,200 meters altitude, it features local varieties 74158 and 74112 (Heirloom). The coffee is washed processed: cherries are depulped using eco-pulpers, fermented in tanks for 2–3 days, soaked in clean water for 12 hours, then dried on raised African beds for 7–10 days. The flavor profile offers green tea with jasmine, sweet white grapes, and a light citrus note of bergamot.

Kmen Coffee Roasters

Opened at the end of 2021 in České Budějovice by a group of friends, they roast on a 15kg Giesen machine in an open space roastery with espresso bar, featuring flowery herbarium like packaging that represents the flavor profiles. Head roaster Petr brings years of experience. Their coffee is known for floral and fruity notes, and they've opened their first espresso bar at Budějovice train station. The team values diversity in coffee, rejecting the notion of one right taste.
