This single-origin coffee comes from the Tarrazú region in Los Santos, Costa Rica. It is a medium-light roast that offers a fruity and acidic profile. Tasting notes include crisp apple, honey, and grapefruit. The coffee is versatile and suitable for various brewing methods, though a pour-over is recommended to maximize control over the extraction.
Stephanie Welter Krause founded Swelter Coffee Roasters in 2020, originally based in El Cerrito, California, before relocating operations to Tailwind Roasting, a co roastery facility in Chicago. Swelter sources coffee that is women produced or women led throughout the supply chain, working with suppliers including Artisan Coffee Imports, Mighty Peace Coffee, Bean Voyage, and a family farm called Santa Marta in Guatemala. All coffee is roasted to order in small batches to minimize waste. The business is woman owned and operates under the principle of coffee by women, for everyone.
