This Samburu Estate coffee originates from high-altitude plateaus in Kenya. It is a fully washed coffee grown in iron-rich volcanic loamy soils. The roast profile is light to medium, offering a classic Kenya AA experience. The flavor profile features bold blackcurrant, rich dark chocolate, and smooth vanilla sweetness, characterized by a lively acidity and an elegant body.
Grain & Grind opened its first coffee shop at the start of 2018 beneath the old Victoria Infirmary buildings on Battlefield Road in Glasgow. A roaster was installed in that original shop and later relocated to Inverness, where master roaster John now hand roasts in small batches across a range of over twenty offerings. The company has grown to eight café locations spread between Glasgow and Inverness. They also run a wholesale supply business providing beans, brew bags, and equipment to cafés, restaurants, and hotels, partnering with San Remo for espresso machines and Mahlkönig for grinders.
