This coffee is sourced from smallholding farmers in the Bosecha kebele of the Nensebo woreda in Ethiopia’s West Arsi zone. Grown at an altitude of 1900 to 2100 meters, this lot consists of local Landrace varieties. The cherries are processed at the Gara Tunise wet mill, where they are depulped and fermented in cement tanks for 36 to 48 hours before being dried on raised beds under parabolic shade. This coffee offers a flavor profile characterized by notes of white flowers, lime, and clementine.
Carrier Roasting Co. was founded in 2011 by Ben Doxtator in Northfield, Vermont. The roastery operates a vintage Probat L12, producing lighter roast profiles designed to highlight origin characteristics in small batches. Sourcing is built on direct trade relationships with personal connections to farmers and importers, and the range includes single origin coffees and seasonal micro lots. Vermont Magazine named Carrier the best coffee roaster in the state. The café at Depot Square serves espresso, pour over, and retail beans, and the wholesale side supplies cafés and restaurants throughout Vermont.
