Peaberry beans are a natural mutation where a single, oval seed develops inside the coffee cherry instead of the usual two flat-sided seeds. This Brazil peaberry comes from the IP Estate in southern Minas Gerais, where the washed processing and mechanical drying produce a clean cup with low acidity (pH 5.2). The result is smooth and full-bodied, with raspberry brightness balanced by hazelnut richness and an aromatic intensity typical of well-processed Brazilian coffees.

Volcanica Coffee began in 2004 when Costa Rican-born Maurice Contreras started importing richly flavored beans from volcanic regions right out of his garage. What began as a side passion soon grew into a family-run specialty roaster, roasting on demand in Atlanta and sending each batch out within a day. Their approach is simple, unyielding: showcase terroir-driven, exotic single-origin beans from volcanic soils, roast them with care, and ship only when they’re at their freshest.
